Four years ago, humanity found out the world is ending... soon, but not just yet. With a cataclysmic solar flare predicted to wipe out life on Earth within the decade, Solarise is a speculative sci-fi musical about the end of the world, and how people choose to spend their time in the face of indefinite impending doom. Heartfelt, hopeful, and encouragingly thought-provoking – there are no wrong answers, but what would you do?

​The Wellington Footlights Society is a musical theatre performance group formed in 2014. We are dedicated to producing high quality musical theatre shows and operating on a collective structure, with all society members able to perform in productions and to vote on which shows will be produced next.

The Wellington Footlights Society is dedicated to producing musical theatre productions of a consistently high standard. We are often interested in producing shows that are internationally renowned, but have rarely or never been produced on stage in Wellington, and musical revues that bring together a range of classic and contemporary music united by a common theme.
